Thismay seem kinda odd. I used to get these crashes on another game. I suggest putting the game in windowed mode then turning down the resolution to 800x600 see if it works. Just to get passed the cutscene. Then you can turn your resolution back to whatever you had it at. #2.

Ifyou installed on drive C:\Program Files the game probably doesn't have write permissions to save the file. Either try running as Administrator or installing to a different drive.
